There are plenty of things to do in Aegina. From a walk through lovely Aegina town with its lively promenade and crystal clear beaches to an exploration of the island, with the impressive Temple of Aphaia, picturesque fishing villages and lot of pistachio trees.

In the morning you get picked up from your accommodation and with the metro, or a private coach if preferred, you go to the Piraeus. From here you sail in a little bit more than an hour to Aegina.

Arriving in the sparkling harbour of Aegina town you get some time for a coffee at the buzzing promenade. After you go for a guided citywalk taking you into the narrow backstreets, with kids riding bikes and laundry strung from balconies and where 19th-century neoclassical buildings intermix with whitewashed houses.

After the walk, there is time to shop, to relax on the beach or to take a refreshing swim. And of course there is time to have lunch at one of the local tavernas on the beach or on the boulevard, enjoying fresh fish, a colorful Greek salad and some Greek wine.

Instead of staying in Aegina town it is also possible to do an island tour, exploring the island with a private coach. The biggest attraction on the island is the impressive Temple of Aphaia, a stunning example of ancient architecture set in a beautiful natural forested area with sensational views across the island to the sea. Also worth visiting is the monastery of Agios Nektarios , built for the most recent Greek Orthodox saint and visited by large numbers of people every year. Many of them seeking help from this miracle-working saint, who died in 1920. Another must-see are the remains of Paleochora, which means literally, “Old Town”, and which was for a millennium (9th century – early 19th century AD) the islands capital.

Via a scenic route along the coast, passing from small fishing villages, the coach brings you back to Aegina town.

Of course we can also arrange a lunch for the group.
